The Physics and Earth Sciences Departments of the University of Évora and Évora Geophysics Centre, classified as Excellent by FCT, are offering two grants, for the academic year 2007/2008, to the two best students of the Secondary School, who have concluded, in 2007, the 12º year in the fields of Exact/Natural Sciences and are willing to enter either in the Physics or in the Earth and Atmospheric Sciences graduation courses at the University of Évora.
The grant covers the 1st anual registration fee in the University of Évora and can be renewed for the following years (2nd and 3th years) if the student successufully concluded the 1st year of studies with a grade equal or above 14/20.
For the students finishing their graduation with a classfication equal or above 14/20, It will be offered the opportunity to proceed their academic training and research in Physics, in Earth, Atmospheric and Space Sciences or Environmental Instrumentation, by entering in one of the Master Courses offered by the University of Évora.
To apply to these two grants, the students should send a letter addressed to the Presidents of both Physics and Earth Sciences Departments and to the Director of Évora Geophysics Centre, explaining the reasons for choosing the course and its expectations. Personal information (name, age, address and contacts) should also be provided as well as the certificate with the marks obtained during the last two years of the secondary school. The candidates may be invited for an interview. The grants will be available as soon as the selected candidates have entered the University, through the national student contest.
