The Geophysics Centre of Évora, with almost 15 years of existence, has methodically and persistently acquired increasing expertise in the fields of Seismology, Applied Geophysics, Geology, Atmospheric Physics and Satellite Remote Sensing, Climate Dynamics, Scenarios and Impacts of Climate Change through a firm strategy of capacity building in highly qualified scientific human resources.
On 11 May 2009, the Portuguese Republic submitted to the Commission on the Limits of the Continental Shelf, in accordance with Article 76, paragraph 8, of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, information on the limits of the continental shelf beyond 200 nautical miles from the baselines from which the breadth of the territorial sea is measured.
O objectivo do encontro foi divulgar e debater os trabalhos de investigação em curso, promovendo o cruzamento de saberes e de metodologias. Em paralelo pretendeu se neste 4º Encontro debater as oportunidades de emprego científico e a inserção de pós graduados no mercado de trabalho. É ainda objectivo do encontro fomentar o interesse dos estudantes da Universidade de Évora pela investigação científica.
Tivemos 25 comunicações dos nossos estudantes.
No final do encontro a melhor apresentação oral e o melhor poster foram premiados (Vale de 100 € FNAC e STAPLES).
